PRODUCTS FROM BCI
In 1975 BCI has commissioned its first
Chloralkali plant to produce:
• Liquefied Chlorine Gas
• Caustic Soda Liquid & Flakes
• Hydrochloric Acid
• Sodium Hypochlorite
Subsequently the demand quickly outstripped
supply and in just two years the capacity was
doubled.
In 1983, the mercury cell plant was supplemented
with a new plant four times the size of the
original, using then state of the art membrane
technology recently updated. At this time being
only the sixth company in the world to use this
advanced pollution free technology, the process
ensured extremely high purity end products.
Both Chloralkali units utilize local raw
materials and are monitored using the latest
computerized technology. As with BCI’s other
manufacturing facilities, the chloralkali plants
are operated to stringent international safety
and quality control standards.
BCI was certified in November 1995 for ISO 9002
by SGS Yarsley for the manufacture, sale and
distribution of caustic soda, chlorine,
hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite plus
quality control and safety. In 2003 BCI was
certified for ISO 9001-2000
In 2005 BCI commissioned its third and largest
chloralkali plant again using membrane
electrolyser technology supplied by Uhdenora
(German-Italian Co.). The start of this
expansion saves BCI more than double the current
capacity to cover both local and overseas
markets and maintain a leadership role in this
industry.
Over the years and in step with expanding
requirements of the Saudi Arabian industrial
sector, BCI developed facilities to manufacture
diverse range of products including water
treatment chemicals, industrial maintenance
chemicals, laundry and janitorial products and
customized chemical blending, as well as
establishing two specialist manufacturing joint
ventures with major multinational partners.
